Dr. Jane Andersen, DPM

Dr. Andersen is originally from the Chicagoland area. She earned her undergraduate degree at Indiana University in Bloomington before pursuing her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. During her studies, she served as President of her senior class and was honored with the Outstanding Student Service Award at graduation.


She went on to complete a three-year advanced surgical residency at Stanford University Medical Center and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. Following her residency, Dr. Andersen practiced as a staff podiatrist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, where she also served as Associate Chief of Podiatry, in addition to working in private practice.


In 1998, Dr. Andersen and her family relocated to North Carolina. After practicing in Durham for several years, she joined Chapel Hill Foot and Ankle Associates, P.A. in 2003. She is Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and holds surgical privileges at Durham Regional Hospital and Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages, from children and athletes to adults and seniors.


Dr. Andersen is a Past President of the American Association for Women Podiatrists, Inc. and has served on the Public Education and Information Committee of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Her expertise has been featured in numerous media outlets, including USA Today, Oprah, Better Homes and Gardens, Fitness, Real Simple, Parenting, and Working Mother.



She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband and their two daughters, and she values being part of such a vibrant and welcoming community..
